The Lord sees to the heart, whereas people judge from the outside. Wonder if He sees us like this little Glowlight Tetra, with all His good purpose waxing strong and beautiful as He intended. Or does He see His intentions waning from broken places that choke the flow of His Spirit; twisted paths that substitute lust for love, or bitter roots that spread infection across thoughts, across feelings, tainting the words of our tongues and the actions of our bodies with death. God's creation battered, dying, and tricked into choosing short-term gratification instead of His eternal purpose. He weeps and wishes for glory to glow in us today and forever in the life to come.
He is not far. You are surrounded by His glory, it just means opening up and saying yes to drinking in His glory. The Living Water will rush into our being, clean out the debris, and refresh us with new life, courage, trust, perseverance. How long do you want to cup tightly and desperately the water in your hands when in reality you are bobbing around in an ocean of His presence? Just cry out to Him, He longs to answer you, His creature.
