Lake Sentani, a lake in Indonesia, is surrounded by the Cyclops Mountains. It lies near the equator, not too far above sea level. One of it's naturally occuring fish is the Red Rainbow fish. It is threatened by a number of things impacting the lake. Poor frail species.
Frailty. Frail faith. Holding on by a thread. Deep from the gut a split opens and sobs come coughing out... Who told me life as a soldier would be easy and comfortable?! The shepherd boy David who would become King had been well prepared for the battle against Goliath. He had many practice shots bringing down bears and lions that came to attack his flock; so much so that when all the rest of the army was terrified of Goliath, little teenage David volunteered without pause to face the giant. It was this unique victory that led to him being named King! Praise God for the lion that comes to devour me, because I am being equipped for something larger than what I'm now able to vanquish. And it's not supposed to be an easy boot camp.
One way my weak heart gets courage is by looking in the eyes of another who believes and hopes in God. The word says to not stop assembling. Keep gathering, praying together, acknowledging His truth...stay with your fellows and be built up in your relationship with one another. We come into Christ alone, yet inherit a giant community, and I'm locking arms with them. Bring my comrades, Lord! Will I stick close to those who trust the Truth, the Father of all truth? Stick together; I have your back, you have mine, and God has us both in the palm of His hand.
