Our words can bless the Lord and others. The Lord requires His people to speak. Isaiah 40:3 "A voice cries out..." and in verse 6, "Proclaim a message..." And what was the message? To prepare in the wilderness a road for the Lord! People get ready! For what? Prepare because our King is coming. What would you do if a dignitary was coming to your town or your home? Now imagine it is the King of the universe, the One who created all...how would we ever prepare for Him? God, teach us how to prepare for your coming!
Why do we want to prepare? If we prepare correctly verse 5 says, "then the glory of the Lord will be revealed"...sounds like all people will see it. And He promises this. Ok, so if I want all of the people to fly with me into His marvelous love, I will want His glory exposed for all to see. I will listen very closely and do what is described in Isaiah 40. Towards the end of the chapter it says, "Why do you complain that the Lord doesn't know your troubles or care if you suffer injustice?...Our reward for speaking, preparing, desiring Him is that we will fly on eagle's wings. People, get ready and fly.
