Paul Crimi experiments with mono prints and I'm pleased to have a number of them in the exhibit at North River Gallery. Experiment is the key word for Crimi who is not afraid to dash, drag and swirl colors across a surface. Chaos and meaninglessness swirl around our lives until we begin to know and see the cross. It stands like a totem smack in the middle of life's drama. It is a coagulant that captures all the purposelessness we feel and replaces it with nobility. The cross is the doorway to paradise, meaning, and wholeness. We cannot know ourselves until we lose ourselves at the cross.
