Wearing His Righteousness by Kirsten Borror 2012 Acrylic 5x5 |
The Pearl Gourami breathes air from the surface of the water. Its pattern of spots shimmer like mother of pearl, hence the name. Or are the pearls actually drops of water, that magic liquid which makes our planet so conducive to life? They seem to have been dabbed on its sides. This is a fish where heaven and water meet, as it breathes air and wears rain drops.
Yesterday when my mind awoke but my eyes were still closed I saw heavenly rain falling through a big blue sky. Straight down it came, gentle, full, lush, beautiful, like a beaded curtain. It was God's righteousness. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. The night before I asked to see His good things, His hidden things, treasures, splendor and magnificence. The Lord was true to His word and answered! His righteousness is beautiful and marvelous! Whether one welcomes it or is repulsed by it doesn't change its nature or character. The one who brings His message brings something so eternal and lasting and beyond beauty as we know it. He rains down His Word, His righteousness on the evil and the good. It is His pleasure to give His goodness to any. How beautiful are His commands! Are not these His righteousness?
The Maker of heaven rains down His nature through that sky He made! His commands are His hope for us that we would choose to share in His righteousness. "Please, become part of My glory!" He says. He invites,
"Become beautiful, become healing, become joy, become eternal, become part of My family, My kingdom, My multitude! I love you! I long for you! How I long to gather you up in My arms like a hen gathers her chicks! See my goodness displayed with your own eyes! Bask in it, and soak up every drop!" It fills me with joy and hope! It is full, so much so that my present circumstances are small and temporary by comparison. My circumstances are relative, but His righteousness is absolute. His glory will never fade or change; my circumstances will. Ask for eyes to see!
