Author Visit: Helene Young @ Camden Library

Popular Australian author Helene Young will be the next visiting writer to Camden Library. She will be talking about her new novel Shattered Sky, which is described as “suspense, murder and love in the Australian tropics.”

It concerns surveillance pilot, Lauren Bennett, who, on a routine assignment, becomes involved in the tracking of international smugglers on a suspect yacht, and the action continues into the isolated country of Cape York. The story also involves Callum Granger, a naval patrol boat captain. Can Laura and Callum put aside past differences and old enmities to outwit, outrun and ultimately out-fly the smugglers?

Helene’s previous novel was “Border Watch,” another in the genre of “Romantic Suspense.” This fits perfectly with the library service’s LIBRARY LOVERS WEEK which runs from Valentine’s Day on Monday 14th to Saturday 19th February, and during which time the library will run competitions and other romantic “surprises” for the public.

Helene Young lives in Trinity Beach on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef in North Queensland. Her work as a senior captain with a major regional airline takes her all over the east coast of Australia. She is as passionate about aviation as she is about writing. “I’ve been flying for 22 years, which gives me an “office” with the most spectacular views in Australia and I never get tired of looking down at the wonderful landscape.”
